Mindfulness for organisations

At direction we are passionate advocates of mindfulness, offering a range of mindful workshops and courses which can be tailored to meet the specific needs and goals of your organisation. They are designed to be fun, informative and engaging, helping your team to develop new skills in an encouraging way, supporting them to change ingrained habits to become happier and more productive employees.

Each of our courses can be held at a venue of your choice – on-site or off – and will be delivered by one of our qualified trainers.

Mindfulness is the ability to focus your awareness on the present moment, training your mind to be aware of where you are right now and accepting your feelings, thoughts and emotions without judgement or criticism. Although this may sound simple, it does need to expert guidance to put it into practice.

Continuous research by the Mindfulness Meditation Institute and other organisations around the world have confirmed that Mindfulness Training
Programmes yield a return on investment of 5 to 10 times their cost.

Research throughout the world is increasingly demonstrating the profoundly beneficial effects that mindfulness can have on our well-being, quality of life and overall happiness, all of which  can positively affect performance and productivity in the workplace.

The benefits to individuals include:

  • Reduced levels of stress and anxiety
  • The ability to respond to difficult situations  calmly without feeling overwhelmed
  • Increased self-esteem and confidence
  • Being more accepting and less critical of self and others
  • Increased levels of attention and concentration
  • Better able to communicate effectively
  • Improved sleep
  • Improved relationships
  • Overall improved health and mental well being

All of which brings these benefits to your organisation:

  • A happier, more productive, focused and motivated workforce
  • Raised levels of resilience resulting a greater ability to handle stressful or difficult situations and deadlines
  • Improved communication throughout a team, saving time on repetition and misunderstandings
  • Increased employee engagement and loyalty
  • A reduction in sickness and time off work

Taster sessions

Our introductory mindfulness session is ideal for events such as team meetings or conferences, it is designed to give your staff a friendly and fun taste of mindfulness. Sessions usually last from 45-60 mins and will involve light-hearted experiential exercises to give people a flavour of mindfulness, explain what it is and why practicing it can bring benefits to all.

Our bespoke mindfulness workshops are tailored to cover the specific topics you feel that your organisation would like supported. The content and timings are flexible depending on your budget, with sessions ranging from 1 hour to 3.5 hours. Some of our most popular workshops are ‘Building Resilience’, ‘Calm & Chillax’, ‘Managing Anxiety’ and ‘Dealing with Distractions’, however we will work with you to design the most appropriate content to suit your needs.
Our workshops can be delivered in a series or on a single session, ad-hoc basis.
Learning mindfulness in a group allows people to interact and share experiences with like-minded people under the guidance of our qualified tutors. We limit our group size to allow all participants the opportunity to connect with the tutor and ask questions.

Mindful Based Living Course (MBLC)

Our 16 hour course, based on the work of world renowned mindfulness teacher Rob Nairn, is designed to help adults develop mindful skills and teach them how to introduce these into their daily professional and personal live’s.

Mindful Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)

In addition to helping people bring mindfulness practice into their everyday life, the MBSR looks more in-depth at individual’s reactions to stress as well as understanding and recognising the triggers.
