Putting mindfulness into practice

 

Course Content:

Session 1 – Start Where We Are

Recognising the unsettled mind and working through techniques on how to settle it.

 

Session 2 – The Body as a Place to Stay Present
Learning to work with the body as support to reconnect with the present moment

 

Session 3 – Introducing Mindfulness Support
Introducing sound as support for being present and reflect upon the attitude of non-striving in our practice.

 

Session 4 – Working with Distraction
Learning to work with distraction and introduce breath as a support for being present.

 

Session 5 – Exploring the Undercurrent
Observing the patterns in our busy mind and being able to recognise them, step back and make choices on how to respond rather than react.

 

Session 6 – Attitude of the Observer
Reflecting upon our internal environment of thoughts, feeling and physical sensations and and our attitude toward our experience.

 

Session 7 – Self-Acceptance

Bringing together compassion and kindness based practices and learning about acceptance and how it can help move ourselves, our practices and lives forward.

 

Session 8 – A Mindfulness Based Life

Revisiting mindfulness support and reflecting on our journey, investigating how we can deal with difficulty more skilfully.
