About direction

direction specialises in providing professional Counselling, Employee Assistance Programmes, Occupational Health Guidance, Workplace Mediation, Independent Supervision and Training.  We also provide Critical Incident Response and De-briefing, Stress Audits, Return to Work Programmes and staff Welfare Management throughout Scotland.

Our services are provided by a team of qualified and experienced counsellors, psychotherapists, mediators and trainers who have extensive experience and provide a wide range of approaches. Team members are selected for their ability to undertake the breadth of the work that you require and their willingness to make a commitment to our service to ensure its stability and professionalism.

All our staff receive ongoing clinical supervision and are members of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and we are an organisational member of COSCA. Being members of the BACP and COSCA gives our staff support and guidance. It also commits us to uphold BACP's ‘Ethical Framework of Good Practice’ and COSCA's 'Code of Ethics' and complying with their complaints procedure. This ensures the highest standards of practice are maintained. Naturally, direction is also adequately covered by Professional Indemnity Insurance.

direction is a dynamic organisation, continually seeking new ways of presenting material. All our staff are committed to Continuous Professional Development (CPD) and keeping up to date with developments and research in our area of expertise.

We encourage our clients to complete evaluation forms to provide us with feedback. Our services, policies and practice have been shaped and will continue to change over the years through feedback received from our clients as well as from organisations and our own staff. This practice ensures that our operation remains supportive of all involved.

Given the field in which we operate, we are very aware of our obligation of confidentiality. All information received from our clients and organisations is treated in confidence. We also ensure that personal data is held in compliance with the Data Protection Act.
